My Bio
Hello there :)

My name is Pern, well it’s really Pernille, but I tend not to use my Norwegian name much these days, and I kind of like Pern better ^^. Pern also means Honey buzzard.
I am a 27 year old Norwegian lady, now, after living and studying in England, have moved back to Norway.

I have drawn all my life. I was an only child growing up, so from a young age I learned to entertain myself by being creative. In 2003 I started studying art for my gymnasium education (from the age of 16 to 19). In the beginning of my second year however, I injured my right shoulder and have had trouble with it ever since. Being right handed, it has made it more difficult for me to create and be creative with my own work, since using it extensively usually leaves me in quite a lot of pain. But drawing is such a big part of me, so even if it’s made it more difficult, it will never stop me from expressing my creativity.

After finishing Art School in summer 2006, I had a gap year to work, and figure out what I wanted to study further. September 2007 I moved to England to study Garden Design, and graduated 2010.

Because my shoulder is provoked by a lot of drawing I have to be careful with how much I use it and what I use it on. Because of this there is a limit to how many drawings I can produce over time, so if you like my stuff I'm gonna have to ask you to be patient <3
However, the handicap of my arm has made me find the pleasure in photography.

From my name you might have guessed that I am a perfectionist, which can be a pain in the behind some times. It means that I am very critical of my own work, and is rarely 100% happy with it. ...Bleh

X Pern

Hello to the few of you who visit my page; I would like to share some thoughts with you, on a question that has been niggling me for a long time. Does the skills of producing art and deviations digitally out rank the skills of traditional techniques and media on sites like DA? I can't help notice that the most popular and well thought of artists on DA, not to mention the ones I get impressed by, use digital tools as their main technique. There can be no doubt that digital techniques can bring creative and visual opportunities that the traditional techniques can't, and of course it's a big advantage when uploading to a digital gallery.
